Programme for personal auditions

First and second price winners of one of the competitions belonging to
FEDERATION MONDIALE DES CONCOURS INTERNATIONAUX DE MUSIQUE
or Alink-Argerich Foundation do not have to take part in the
personal auditions.

The repertorie for the personal auditions:

a.) one work of J.S. Bach chosen from either the Partitas (BWV 825-831)

OR the Italian Concerto (BWV 971)
OR the French Ouverture (BWV 831)
OR an English Suite (BWV 806 - 811)
OR three Preludes and Fugues from the Book 1 and/or 2 of the "Well tempered Clavier"

PLUS b.) The first movement of the Haydn Sonata selected for the 1st round of the Competition

OR the first movement of the Beethoven or Schubert Sonata chosen for the 2d round of the Competition.

Programm for stage one

The programme of the first round must contain:

a.) A Haydn Sonata

PLUS b.) one set of the "Lieder ohne Worte" by Mendelssohn selected from the following books: Opus 19, Opus 30, Opus 38, Opus 53, Opus 62, Opus 67, Opus 85 or Opus 102.
(Please note, that the six Lieder must be taken from one and the same opus) OR Trois Fantaisies ou Caprices Op. 16 OR Three Preludes (Book 1) AND/OR Three Etudes (Book 2) Op. 104

A programme of 60 minutes duration, consisting of:

a.) A Sonata of Beethoven or Schubert
PLUS b.) One or several pieces of Schumann AND/OR Chopin AND/OR Liszt.

3rd Round
consists of a) piano chamber music OR vocal chamber music PLUS b) one composition chosen from works written by the composers currently living in the Ruhr area and sent to the candidates who have been accepted to compete in the Second International Carl Bechstein Piano Competition - no later than by November 15th 2009.

Candidates who have chosen to compete in the piano chamber music category should choose one piano quartet selected from:

Klavierquartett Es Dur op. 47 of Schumann
or Klavierquartett op.2 of Mendelssohn
or the Klavierquartett op.3 of Mendelssohn
or the Klavierquartett Es Dur KV 493 of Mozart.

Candidates who have chosen to compete in the vocal chamber music category should select one song cycle from Robert Schumann out of the following cycles:

Liederkreis(Heine) op.24
Kernerlieder op.35
Liederkreis (Eichendorff) op.39
Frauenliebe und -Leben op.42
Dichterliebe op.48

The candidate shall submit two selected piano concertos.

b.) A concerto by Mendelssohn, Schumann, Chopin or Liszt.
